    Background:

    Purpose of the Study:

    • To investigate whether an immunological challenge, known to induce mast cell secretion, also causes mitogenesis in adjacent normal tissue cells in guinea pigs and rats.
    • To compare the mitogenic effects of mast cell products released during immunological challenges versus polyamine-induced responses.
