Abstract:
The rapid and efficient screening of blood and urine specimens for the presence of bacteria is now possible. Bioluminescent, colorimetric, and nephelometric bacterial detection systems are described in this paper. In addition, enzyme immunoassay for bacterial antigens is discussed.
