The Thoracic and Cardiovascular Surgeon
|August 1, 1983
Abstract:
A case of right atrium perforation by an intercostal drain is presented. The patient survived this serious complication. The fatal outcome was avoided by cross-clamping the pleural drain after withdrawing 800 to 1000 cl of blood, and an immediate X-ray study with contrast being carried out.
