[Perforation of colonic diverticuli]

Difficulties of preoperative diagnosis of perforations of colonic diverticula are shown by an analysis of 11 patients. The Gartman resection of the sigmoid colon was performed in 8 patients. A conclusion is made concerning advantages of resection of the intestine without a primary anastomosis for perforation of colonic diverticula over other kinds of operative procedures.
