Context:

Investigating the physiological response to blood donation.
Understanding thrombocyte (platelet) dynamics in healthy donors.

Purpose:

To analyze thrombocyte count changes following a standard 400 ml blood donation.
To document the transient alterations in platelet levels post-phlebotomy.

Summary:

A short-term, average doubling of thrombocyte numbers was observed in all 39 participants after donating 400 ml of blood.
In 19 donors, this thrombocyte increase was evident as early as after the collection of 100 ml.
