    Background:

    • Transient ischemic attacks (TIAs) require sensitive diagnostic tools for early detection and monitoring.

    • Twenty-five patients with TIAs underwent computed mapping of EEG (CME), conventional EEG, CT scans, cerebral angiography, and regional cerebral blood flow (rCBF) measurements.
    • CME generated color-coded topographic maps of EEG power spectra across multiple frequency bands.
    • Comparison focused on the detection of EEG abnormalities between CME and conventional EEG readings.

    Findings:

    • CME identified unilateral abnormalities lateralized to clinical symptoms in 68% of TIA patients, persisting even after symptom resolution.
