    Summary

    This study found that isoproterenol infusion reliably triggered ventricular tachycardia (VT) in patients with exercise-induced VT, suggesting a common pathophysiology. Propranolol effectively suppressed this VT, indicating a potential treatment strategy.

    Background:

    • Exertional palpitations and ventricular tachycardia (VT) can be challenging to diagnose.
    • Treadmill (TM) testing and electrophysiologic (EP) studies are crucial diagnostic tools.

    Purpose of the Study:

    • To investigate the utility of isoproterenol (ISO) infusion in provoking VT in patients with exercise-induced VT.
    • To characterize the electrophysiologic properties of ISO-induced VT and evaluate treatment responses.

    Main Methods:

    • Six patients with exertional palpitations and reproducible TM-provocable VT underwent EP studies with ISO infusion.
    • VT characteristics, QRS morphology, and response to propranolol and Class I drugs were analyzed.
