[Isolated ilial tuberculosis and its differential diagnosis]
Isolated tuberculous foci in the ilium are particularly rare. Over a period of 26 years (1955 to 1981) we have treated ten lesions in the ilium in our Clinic. Only two (one male, one female) were of tuberculous origin, the other consisted of non-specific osteomyelitis, one sarcoma and one lesion in a Hand-Schüller-Christian syndrome. In the discussion, the literature is reviewed concerning the frequency, features, treatment, prognosis and differential diagnosis of specific infections of the ilium.
