    Area of Science:

    • Dermatology
    • Clinical Case Study

    Background:

    • Presents a unique case of a 52-year-old female with a severe, progressive skin disorder.
    • Highlights the diagnostic challenge posed by a constellation of unusual dermatologic symptoms.

    Observation:

    • The patient exhibited generalized perforating folliculitis, widespread erythroderma, and follicular hyperkeratosis.
    • Additional symptoms included keratoderma of palms and soles, alopecia of scalp and eyebrows, and nail abnormalities.

    Findings:

    • The described skin reaction, encompassing multiple severe dermatologic manifestations, appears novel.
    • The condition proved entirely resistant to conventional therapies including steroids, adrenocorticotropin, PUVA, cytostatic drugs, and aromatic retinoids.

    Implications:

    • This case may represent a previously undescribed dermatologic disease entity.
    • Further research is warranted to understand the pathogenesis and identify effective treatments for this resistant condition.
