    Purpose:

    • To compare the diagnostic accuracy, including sensitivity, specificity, and predictive values, of laparoscopy versus histology in evaluating liver conditions.
    • To determine the optimal diagnostic approach for different types of liver pathologies, specifically DLD and FND.

    • A study evaluated 748 liver cases (408 DLD, 246 FND, 94 normal) using laparoscopy and histology.

    • Blind liver biopsy is not recommended for FND cases due to laparoscopy's superior performance.
    • Liver biopsy remains a valuable tool for diagnosing DLD, complementing laparoscopic findings.
