[Diagnostic value of breast cytology (author's transl)]

The comparison between clinical examination, mammography, thermography and fine needle aspiration cytology shows the usefulness of cytology in differential diagnosis of benign and malignant breast tumours. The cytology shows the real nature of benign suspicious and malignant mammographic and thermographic results. Specially in the younger patients cytology identifies early tissue changes, invisible on mammography. Application of the TNM classification shows TOT1 T2 tumours 72% of the material, with 90% positive cytologic results.
