    Summary

    This study found higher levels of circulating immune complexes in lung cancer patients compared to healthy individuals. Immune complex presence did not correlate with skin test responses or clinical features in cancer patients.

    Background:

    • Circulating immune complexes (CICs) are implicated in various diseases.
    • Their role in lung cancer pathogenesis requires further elucidation.

    Purpose of the Study:

    • To investigate the presence of CICs in patients with biopsy-proven lung cancer.
    • To compare CIC levels and delayed hypersensitivity responses between lung cancer patients and healthy controls.

    Main Methods:

    • Utilized Clq-binding assay and conglutinin-binding test to detect CICs.
    • Assessed delayed hypersensitivity via skin testing with recall antigens.
    • Included 42 lung cancer patients and sex/age-matched healthy controls.

    Main Results:

    • Significantly higher incidence of CICs was observed in lung cancer patients compared to controls.
