Abstract:
Fulminant, rapidly fatal pulmonary metastatic disease occurred in two breast cancer patients. The radiologic appearance in both suggested infection. Immunosuppression may have contributed to this overwhelming illness. Attempts to obtain a tissue diagnosis are warranted in cancer patients if acute pulmonary infiltrates do not respond to appropriate antibiotics.
