    Summary

    Elastosis, an increase in elastic tissue, was found in over half of invasive breast cancers, particularly in scirrhous types. This finding did not correlate with malignancy grade or lymph node spread.

    Background:

    • Elastosis, characterized by increased elastic tissue, is a histopathological finding in various tissues.

    Purpose of the Study:

    • To investigate the occurrence and characteristics of elastosis in an unselected series of breast cancers.
    • To determine potential correlations between elastosis and clinicopathological features of breast tumors.

    • An unselected series of breast cancer cases were analyzed for the presence and patterns of elastosis.
