    Summary

    This study reports a rare case of coexisting breast cystosarcoma phyllodes and adenocarcinoma in a single patient. The presence of cystosarcoma phyllodes did not alter the prognosis or treatment of the adenocarcinoma.

    Background:

    • Cystosarcoma phyllodes and breast adenocarcinoma are distinct malignant breast pathologies.
    • Giant fibroadenomas and cystosarcoma phyllodes can exhibit long-term recurrence.
    • Coexistence of these two distinct breast lesions is exceptionally rare in clinical literature.

    Observation:

    • A 59-year-old female patient with a 36-year history of recurrent giant fibroadenomas and cystosarcoma phyllodes presented with both cystosarcoma phyllodes and invasive breast adenocarcinoma.
    • This represents only the eighth documented case of such a dual diagnosis.

    Findings:

    • Histopathological examination confirmed the presence of both cystosarcoma phyllodes and adenocarcinoma within the same breast specimen.
    • The study found no discernible impact of the coexisting cystosarcoma phyllodes on the established prognosis and treatment efficacy of the breast adenocarcinoma.
