Transcutaneous sympathetic stimulation: effects of autonomic nervous function
Transcutaneous electrical nerve stimulation (TENS) can cause significant hand skin cooling and reduced arterial pulsation in healthy individuals. These effects were not observed in patients with alcoholic peripheral neuropathy, suggesting altered vascular responses.
