    Area of Science:

    • Pulmonology
    • Obstetrics & Gynecology

    Background:

    • Bronchiectasis is a chronic lung condition characterized by permanent enlargement of the airways.
    • Management of chronic diseases during pregnancy requires careful monitoring.

    Purpose of the Study:

    • To assess the impact of bronchiectasis on pregnancy outcomes.
    • To monitor pulmonary function in pregnant patients with bronchiectasis.

    Main Methods:

    • Pulmonary function tests were conducted at regular intervals throughout pregnancy.
    • Clinical status and pregnancy outcomes were observed in three patients.

    Main Results:

    • All three patients with bronchiectasis tolerated pregnancy well.
    • No adverse effects on pregnancy outcomes were observed that were attributable to bronchiectasis.

    Conclusions:

    • Bronchiectasis may not significantly complicate pregnancy.
    • Further research with larger cohorts is warranted to confirm these findings.
