[Suitability of extended pulmonectomies in lung cancer]

On the basis of studying remote results of the treatment of 161 patients with lung cancer subjected to spread pneumonectomies it was shown that such operations were expedient only in patients with highly differentiated tumors of the lungs. Better remote results were noted after using an additional radiation or chemotherapeutic treatment in the postoperative period.
