    Summary

    Tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) was administered to eight multiple sclerosis patients experiencing tremor and ataxia. Two patients showed improvements in motor coordination after treatment.

    Background:

    • Multiple sclerosis (MS) is a chronic neurological disease often causing significant motor disability.
    • Tremor and ataxia are common debilitating symptoms in advanced MS.

    Observation:

    • An initial positive patient report prompted further investigation.
    • Eight seriously disabled MS patients with tremor and ataxia were enrolled.

    Findings:

    • Patients received oral tetrahydrocannabinol (THC).
    • Two out of eight patients demonstrated measurable improvements in motor coordination.

    Implications:

    • Tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) may offer potential benefits for managing motor symptoms in MS.
    • Further research is warranted to confirm efficacy and optimal dosing for MS-related tremor and ataxia.
