Recurrent cutaneous herpes simplex: comments on diagnosis in an unusual case

A patient with undiagnosed recurrent cutaneous herpes of twenty-four years' duration is described. The probable reason for the failure to recognize this disease on numerous occasions was the rapid progression of the lesions to the pustular stage within one day.
