    Background:

    • Coxsackievirus B4 is a highly infectious agent known to cause various illnesses in humans.
    • The pathogenesis of Coxsackievirus-induced hepatitis, particularly the potential for viral persistence, requires further investigation.

    Purpose of the Study:

    • To investigate the role of Coxsackievirus B4 in inducing hepatitis in a non-human primate model.
    • To explore the possibility of dormant or slow viral states of Coxsackievirus in infected tissues.

    • Experimental infection of squirrel monkeys with Coxsackievirus B4.
