In women between 18 and 45 years of age consuming either tobacco or an oral contraceptive triglycerides are significantly higher and HDL cholesterol significantly lower than in controls. In women consuming both tobacco and an oral contraceptive, a cumulative effect is demonstrated on these parameters.
