Oral etoposide in gestational trophoblastic disease
Abstract:
Ten patients with persistent or metastatic trophoblastic disease following molar pregnancy were treated with etoposide orally, administered on an outpatient basis. All patients achieved sustained biochemical remission. The mean duration of treatment was 8 weeks. The side effects were mild. The use of etoposide in patients resistant to conventional chemotherapy is discussed.
