    Summary

    A CT scan suggested a pancreatic mass, but further imaging revealed it was functioning splenic tissue. This diagnosis prevented unnecessary surgery for the patient with abdominal pain.

    • The abnormality identified on CT was confirmed to be functioning splenic tissue.
    • The imaging findings localized ectopic splenic tissue.
    • The diagnosis of a pancreatic mass was accurately revised.
