[Intracardiac thrombosis in post-infarction heart aneurysm]
Abstract:
The examination of 93 patients with post-infarction aneurysm of the left ventricle of the heart revealed intracardiac thrombosis in 56 patients (60.2%). Out of 64 patients who were operated on, and 1 patient who died without surgery, thrombus was found in 36 cases (55.4%). Among the patients in whom the diagnosis of intracardiac thrombosis was verified at surgery with the help of roentgenoventriculography and computer-aided tomography of the heart, cardiac thrombi were diagnosed in 41.7 and 81% of the patients, respectively. The presence in a patient of intracardiac thrombosis is an indication for the resection of an aneurysm of the left ventricle of the heart and thrombectomy. The total mortality during the resection of cardiac aneurysm was 9.5% and was not associated with presence of intracardiac thrombosis. There were no intra-operational and post-operational thromboembolytic complications.
