    This study analyzed immunoglobulin G (IgG) subclass distribution in 84 patients with IgG paraprotein. IgG1 was the most prevalent subclass, observed in over half of all cases, indicating its significance in paraprotein disorders.

    Background:

    • Immunoglobulin G (IgG) paraproteinemias are monoclonal gammopathies characterized by the overproduction of a single IgG antibody.
    • Understanding the distribution of IgG subclasses in these conditions is crucial for diagnosis and prognosis.

    Purpose of the Study:

    • To determine the distribution of IgG subclasses (IgG1-4) in patients with IgG paraprotein.
    • To compare subclass distribution between IgG myelomas and non-myeloma IgG paraproteinemias.
    • To investigate the association of light chain types with IgG subclasses.

    Main Methods:

    • Analysis of 84 serum samples from patients with IgG paraprotein.
    • Quantification of IgG subclass levels (IgG1, IgG2, IgG3, IgG4).

    Conclusions:

    • IgG1 is the predominant subclass in IgG paraproteinemias, including myelomas.
    • Subtle differences in subclass distribution exist between IgG myelomas and non-myeloma paraproteinemias.
    • Further research into light chain associations may provide additional diagnostic insights.
