    • Successful detoxification from propoxyphene was achieved with clonidine.
    • Clonidine administration resulted in a brief hospitalization period.
    • The patient experienced a well-tolerated detoxification process.

    Implications:

    • Clonidine may represent a viable therapeutic option for propoxyphene withdrawal.
    • This case suggests potential for reduced healthcare resource utilization.
    • Controlled clinical trials are warranted to establish efficacy and safety.
