    Summary

    This study analyzed medieval juvenile skulls, finding minimal malocclusions linked to pacifier or finger-sucking habits. Dental crowding and rotation were observed, but generally low prevalence of sucking-related dental issues was noted.

    Background:

    • Analysis of juvenile crania from the medieval Schreiner collections in Oslo.
    • Categorization into three groups based on dentition stage: primary, early mixed, and late mixed dentition.

    Observation:

    • Visual assessment of sagittal and transversal dental relations, frontal dental contact, anterior cross-bite, rotation, and crowding.
