[A glimpse of the current knowledge on the physiology of the epididymis]

The author reviews current knowledge of the physiology of the epididymis under several headings devoted essentially to organogenesis, structure, role in the transport and storage of spermatozoa, changes undergone by spermatozoa, the constitution of epididymal fluid and factors involved in variations in epididymal activity.
