A new method of donor site harvesting

Paired or single donor rows separated from another pair of donor rows by a gap of intact skin approximately 12 mm wide and combined with suturing produces superior short-term as well as long-term scarring in punch transplant donor sites. Two variations of this general approach are described and discussed. Because donor scars are finer, it is possible to remove 10 to 15% more grafts from a patient using this approach.
