    • Recurrence of abscess and hydrocephalus necessitated a second surgical intervention.
    • Ventriculoperitoneal (V-P) and cyst-peritoneal shunting resolved hydrocephalus and stabilized head circumference.

    Implications:

    • This case highlights the importance of aggressive management for neonatal brain abscesses.
    • Effective treatment requires a combination of surgical drainage, targeted antibiotics, and management of hydrocephalus.
    • Prompt recognition and intervention can lead to positive outcomes in severe neonatal infections.
