Immunoperoxidase study of cytologic smears in oral pemphigus
Acta Cytologica
|July 1, 1984
Abstract:
A case is reported in which the oral mucosa was involved by pemphigus vulgaris; the lesions were studied by the taking of cytologic smears. The use of an immunoperoxidase stain for IgG on the smears, some of which were already stained by the Papanicolaou technique, gave a positive reaction in the intercellular spaces and on the cell membranes and provided a precise diagnosis of the lesions.
