    Summary

    New serologic tests, indirect immunofluorescence assay (IFA) and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA), show high specificity for diagnosing Lyme disease. These assays are valuable diagnostic and epidemiologic tools for this tick-borne illness.

    Background:
