Abstract:
In group diagnostic investigations of children in the CSR (Northern and Middle Bohemia) and in the F.R. Germany (Ruhr area, Hunsrück) the lymphocyte nucleolar test was used in 1043 peripheral blood smears. Groups of 600 children aged 9-11, boys and girls, were checked repeatedly at intervals of one year. The nucleoli were divided into 6 morphological groups corresponding to the three different functional stages and the nucleolar coefficient was determined. The differing results concerning the frequencies of active lymphocyte nucleoli and the values of the nucleolar coefficient in relation to environmental differences are described and discussed.
