    Summary

    Calmodulin levels are significantly elevated in Graves' disease thyroid tissue compared to normal tissue. This increase correlates with thyroid cell height, suggesting a role in the autoimmune stimulation of the thyroid gland.

    Purpose of the Study:

    • To quantify calmodulin levels in normal and Graves' disease human thyroid tissues.
    • To investigate the relationship between calmodulin levels and thyroid follicular cell morphology.
    • To explore the potential role of calmodulin in the pathophysiology of Graves' disease.
