    Summary

    Glucagon negatively impacts intravenous urography (IVU) visualization of the pyelocalyceal system in adults. It is not a viable pharmacological alternative to abdominal compression for improving IVU diagnostic quality.

    Background:

    • Intravenous urography (IVU) is a key diagnostic imaging technique.
    • Abdominal compression is commonly used to enhance IVU image quality.

    • To evaluate the effect of glucagon on pyeloureteral system visualization during IVU.
    • To compare glucagon's efficacy against abdominal compression for IVU.

    • 194 adult patients underwent IVU under four conditions: abdominal compression, glucagon administration, no intervention, and both compression and glucagon.
