Ultrasonic diagnosis of scrotal contents using newly developed circular compound scanner

A prototype circular compound scanner for scrotal contents was developed in order to improve the ultrasonogram (Aloka SSD 115 Gray Scale Unit, employing 3MHz ASO-25H mechanical sector scanner). Using this scanner, 21 patients with scrotal masses were examined. The internal structure of a testicular tumor and a testes with a hydrocele were clearly visualized. This scanner has proven useful in the evaluation of the scrotal contents.
