    Summary

    Genetic amniocentesis increases Rh isoimmunization risk in Rh-negative women. This study found a 3.4% sensitization rate, higher than the 1.5% in non-amniocentesis groups, particularly before 28 weeks.

    Background:

    • Rh isoimmunization is a significant concern in Rh-negative pregnancies.

    Purpose of the Study:

    • To determine the incidence of Rh isoimmunization following genetic amniocentesis.
    • To compare sensitization rates in women who underwent amniocentesis versus those who did not.

    • Retrospective analysis of 115 Rh-negative women who delivered Rh-positive infants after genetic amniocentesis.
