[Rare computed tomographic and sonographic findings in epithelial body tumors. Report on 2 cases]

Carcinomas and adenomas of the parathyroid glands are not always visualised by sonography and via CT as space-occupying lesions of low echogenicity or as dense contrast enhancing tumours. Parathyroid tumours may be present even if ultrasound or CT detect cystic and/or calcified space-occupying growths in the neck or cranial mediastinum. Attention should be regularly paid to enlarged regional lymph nodes.
