    Background:

    Purpose of the Study:

    • To present a modified isoelectric focusing technique for improved PGM1 subtype classification.
    • To determine the allele frequencies of PGM1 subtypes in a Southern German population.

    • Red cell hemolysates were analyzed using isoelectric focusing on agarose gel plates.
    • A sample of 470 unrelated individuals from Southern Germany was studied.
