[Effect of curare-like substances on the coronary circulation and myocardial oxygen demand]

Experiments on anesthetized cats have shown that tubocurarine chloride in myoparalytic doses and in doses exceeding the myoparalytic ones lowers the volumetric rate of the coronary blood flow and oxygen consumption by the myocardium. The effect of the derivatives of alpha-truxillic acid, anatruxonium and cyclobutonium, given in myoparalytic doses varied. It has been revealed that as compared with tubocurarine, these agents produce less marked decrease in the coronary blood flow and oxygen consumption by the myocardium, or are ineffective.
