Biphasic development of splenic suppressor cells in tumor-bearing mice
Immunology Letters

Abstract:
The splenic lymphocytes of A/J mice bearing anaplastic carcinoma (15091 A) exhibited a biphasic response to Concanavalin A-stimulated DNA synthesis during the progressive growth of tumors. In this paper we attribute the changing lymphocyte responses to Con A to the biphasic development of splenic suppressor cells in tumor-bearing mice. Anaplastic carcinoma in syngeneic A/J mice offers an ideal tumor model to study the functional relationship of suppressor cells to other parameters of immune response such as T-cells cytotoxicity.
