    Background:

    • Congenital absence of the vas (CAV) presents a significant male infertility challenge.

    Purpose of the Study:

    • To evaluate the efficacy of artificial spermatoceles for sperm retrieval in patients with CAV.
    • To assess the viability and motility of retrieved spermatozoa for artificial insemination.
    • To explore challenges in sperm maturation and assisted reproductive technologies.

    Main Methods:

    • Artificial spermatoceles constructed from expanded polytetrafluoroethylene were microsurgically implanted.
    • Implantation was performed over the cut end of the epididymis in three patients with CAV.
    • Spermatozoa were aspirated monthly for up to six months and used for artificial insemination.

    • Normal spermatogenesis and packed epididymal tubules with spermatozoa were observed.
