[Ribosomal genes of animals from the radiobiology aspect]
Abstract:
The content of ribosomal genes was determined in DNA of guinea pig, man, rat and rabbit, i. e. of mammals differing in radiosensitivity. It was shown that as the number of ribosomal genes in DNA grows the radioresistance of the organism increases significantly. It was also established that the content of ribosomal genes in DNA of rabbit thymus increases significantly 2 days following total-body gamma-irradiation of the animal with a dose of 2 Gy.
