[Eosinophilic leukocyte kinetics during the continuous gamma irradiation of rats]
Abstract:
A study was made of quantitative regularities of changes in the population of eosinophilic leukocytes in the bone marrow and peripheral blood of rats continuously exposed to gamma-radiation at dose-rates from 0.1 to 4 Gy/day. The time intervals at which eosinophils were eliminated from the bone marrow were determined. Some mechanisms of the eosinophilopoiesis regulation in conditions of continuous irradiation are discussed.
