[Late discovery of a pericardial defect following implantation of epicardial pacemaker probe]

A pericardial defect without any clinical symptoms is reported which was accidentally diagnosed four years after implantation of an epicardial probe. The patient developed a pneumothorax with pneumopericardium. Etiology and radiological findings are discussed.
