    Background:

    • Senile dementia of Alzheimer type (SDAT) is a common neurodegenerative disorder.
    • Brain atrophy, including sulcal and ventricular dilatation, is a known feature of SDAT.

    Purpose of the Study:

    • To discuss the role of computed tomography (CT) in diagnosing senile dementia of Alzheimer type (SDAT).
    • To evaluate the correlation between CT findings and cognitive impairment in SDAT patients.
