[Therapy of proximal trochanteric fractures using elastic round nails]
Zentralblatt Fur Chirurgie
|January 1, 1984
Abstract:
Stabilising per-and subtrochanteric fractures, especially in elderly patients, by Ender's nails is a slightly invasive and relatively simple method. In our opinion it is the best way of increasing the survival-rate. Dislocation of nails which would cause a reoperation can be avoided by using a wire-cerclage combined with a screw. Fixation of nails in the distal femur is possible without giving up the principle of a "gliding osteosynthesis".
