    Summary

    Thromboxane A2 is generated early in acute myocardial infarction (AMI). This study measured thromboxane B2 levels in dogs and patients, finding increased levels shortly after coronary occlusion or reperfusion in AMI.

    Background:

    • Thromboxane A2 (TXA2) is a potent vasoconstrictor implicated in cardiovascular events.

    • To investigate the early presence and significance of thromboxane B2 (TXB2), the stable metabolite of TXA2, during acute myocardial infarction (AMI).
