Malignant melanoma in Jordan

Seventy-four patients with primary cutaneous malignant melanoma were diagnosed in Jordan from June 1969 until April 1983. The percentage of melanomas to the total number of biopsied tumors was 4.1, and the prevalence of melanoma in the population of Jordan was 2.1 in 100,000. This is the first study of its kind on melanoma in Jordan and is based mainly on cases seen at three major referral centers.
